Parts Therapy in Action

I have been working with this client for a few months now and she's been making excellent progress. However, this time she mentioned that negativity has been pounding her. "J" has had a lifelong struggle to keep it at bay. With all the negativity coming up she feels as if she's lost the ground she'd gained after the previous session.

J described the negativity as a heavy, tiresome feeling, and says that it drags her down. She finds that it hard to stay focused and to meditate. It also chips away at her self-esteem, her thinking and, as a result, she keeps more to herself.

The part (who had no name or label) that emerged during this session said that it had been with her for a long time -- since she was a baby. It's job is to keep her to herself in order to keep her safe. When I asked this part if she was aware that J had grown up since she'd begun her job, she was genuinely surprised. J explained to this part the there were strengths as a grown up, one of which is a big heart and asked the part to take on a new job. She wanted this part to help her set healthy boundaries, provide gentleness and perspective.

The part was willing to help but first needed an update. The part requested a download of all the information that J had from babyhood to her current life. The part also asked that J check in, slow down and think. J agreed and they are now working together. At the end of her session J reported feeling lighter and could imagine being more organized.

On the 22nd of July the sun roars into Leo, the sign of the Lion. Hopefully we are all ready to experience some fun in our life before "The summer vacation" is over–traditionally by September. As usual the media has already gotten the economic scare out to all of us to not take a "vacation". Stay at home for a staycation (is this even a word?)  Well, it must have had some effect on us, because any time I frequent Costco, Sam’s, Home Depot, etc. people are loading up lawn furniture, gazebos and so on.  So I guess we are all doing our part to stimulate the economy with sprucing up our homes and patios. I think so far as summer toys go, a friend of mine's daughter-in-law wins the prize for outdoor toys with a blow up water slide the size of a garage. It can take people up to 400 lbs. No surprise that the adults are enjoying this more than the kids.  Any time we can reach back into the archives for gleeful fun, it’s priceless. Leo is all about children, childhood, creating what we want and what we love or are in love with. So in spite of the dark economic gloom create, create, create.

Additionally, August brings in two eclipses which are in the signs of Leo and Aquarius, polar opposites neither will we be able to see– just thought you ought to know.
