Gratitude |
|
|
This past year has been financially challenging for many. Not
only was I affected, I let it get to me. I started
believing in lack and forgot to be grateful for what I
did have. So, as much as I resist, I reached out for
help. First, I had to set aside my worry about spending
the money. That went rather well, probably because I was
now a tiny bit desparate.
I spent the first 1/2 hour of my session answering questions
and watching (via Skype) my "coach/mentor" ponder my
answers. Of course, being me, I wanted the answers to
sound as if I was really doing much better than I was.
But he called me on it. He was right. I was doing my
best not to complain but I wasn't being honest as a
result.
One of the exercises that we did was to turn my "What if that
horrible thing happens" into "What if that wonderful
thing happens." But I'm getting ahead of myself.
We did a simple grounding process first. Now, I've been using
grounding for many years but not in quite this way. His
method of grounding has really brought me back into my
body -- after all, he pointed out, I'll have plenty of
time to be out of my body -- and slowed me down. It's
interesting to actually live inside my physical body.
The first thing I noticed was that I couldn't power
walk. I still completed my morning mile -- more slowly--
and with full awareness that my feet were firmly planted
on the earth.
Next, I was able to sit down and create a realistic
spreadsheet about some financial matters which calmed me
down considerably.
My homefun assignment was to keep a gratitude list. Here's
how he explained it. If you give someone a gift and
they're not very happy to receive it you're much less
likely to gift them again. But if your gift is fully
appreciated, you want to give again. With that in mind,
I am keeping a list of all the things for which I am
grateful. Especially the very small things that I have
been overlooking.
Every day I ground myself again and add to my gratitude list.
And what a surprise. Besides feeling calmer, business is
improving. This has been a great reminder for me.
Perhaps it will help you as well. |

Hypnotherapy Training |
|
My next Level 1 starts July 16, 2011
This is a becoming a new job market. Jobs that people were
trained for and performed for years are being replaced
by technology and/or sent overseas. Here's some good
news in this rather bleak outlook: Hypnotherapy will
never be replaced by a machine or sent overseas. It
takes heart and compassion. It involves listening
one-on-one to another person's story. And with all the
changes that are taking place, our services are needed
more than ever.
It is a profession that you can continue with regardless of
your age. Whether you are interested in adding skills to
your current career or would like a new full time or
part time career, hypnotherapy is an excellent option.
Through lecture, live demonstrations and supervised in-class
practice, you will learn skills that will change your
life and the lives of those you help. If you have a
sincere desire to help others, this course is for you!
