"Perhaps I am a bear, or some hibernating animal
underneath, for the instinct to be half asleep all
winter is so strong in me."

Hibernation |
|
That's me... a bear in winter... seeking warmth,
solitude, quiet evenings, resting before life blooms
once again. Every living thing needs a resting
phase. Although, in our modern world, we don't
always give ourselves the gift of rest, do we? We're
busy... productive... rushing from one project to
another. So I like the bear's life... eating itself
senseless and then sleeping through winter. <grin>
Sometimes life forces a rest upon us. In the last
few months I've listed my home for sale in order to
purchase a larger home that will house my new
vocational school and be my residence. I was
simultaneously completing the voluminous paperwork
for the State and cleaning closets and tossing out
an amazing assortment of unnecessary items and, of
course, packing in odd moments. I had more than
enough energy. I didn't feel stressed at all.
Everything was falling into place. Then the buyer
for my home backed out. And suddenly I'm resting. I
suppose I needed a good rest. Who knows. I do know
that my morning trance times have been much deeper
since I've been under less pressure to perform.
So now, through no conscious choice, I'm hibernating
just a bit. I stay in trance just a little longer,
sleep just a bit more. So, when the spring daffodils
push their way through the soil, I'll be ready--
full of energy and insight to move into the next
phase. Everyone I talk to lately mentions Divine
Timing... so I am also listening to all the friends
with their gentle reminders as I experience another
opportunity to practice patience and trust. Perhaps
I'll look back in a few months and understand the
delay but, for now, I'm resting and trusting as best
I can.
