Codependency |
|
Every so often I revisit some of the aspects of my old
codependent behavior. And since maybe it's not just me
doing this I'm including a list of the aspects of
codependency this month. If you can relate to any of
them, it might bring to light some areas for
improvement. You can change these old beliefs by rating
the intensity and using EFT or by rewriting the aspect
as a positive statement and programming your
subconscious mind with self hypnosis.
1. My good feelings about who I am stem from being liked
by you.
2. My good feelings about who I am stem from receiving
approval from you.
3. Your struggles affect my serenity. My mental
attention focuses on solving your problems or relieving
your pain.
4. My mental attention is focused on pleasing/protecting
you
5. My mental attention is focused on manipulating you to
do it my way.
6. My own hobbies and interests are put aside -- my time
is spent sharing your interests and hobbies.
7. Your behavior is dictated by my desires as I feel you
are a reflection of me.
8. I am not aware of how I feel or what I want -- I am
aware of how you feel and what you want.
9. If I am not aware, I assume.
10. My fear of rejection determines what I say or do.
11. I use giving as a way of feeling safe in our
relationship.
12. I value your opinion and way of doing things more
than my own.

you started:
I now take responsibility for my own feelings, thoughts
and actions.
I make choices based on my wants and needs.
I am sympathetic when others have problems but know that
others can solve their own problems.
I say no to doing things that other people are capable
of doing for themselves.
I feel safe when receiving help from others.
I now easily allow others to give to me.
I am attracted to healthy, happy people. |
