INSIGHT    Hypnotherapy is such a powerful modality; clients have an opportunity to come to a sudden understanding about a long held belief, flash on an insight about cause and effect, or simply discover an internal sense of deep peace that can be nurtured.  I remember a long-ago session with a colleague. She asked me what belief I had formed as a result of being in a body cast as a baby. The thought that flashed into my mind, "If I can't move when I want to, I will never have what I want," had shaped my choices all my life. With her assistance we changed that early belief and I set myself onto a new path of freedom and success.  Last week I used a standard protocol for allergy relief with a client who had suffered from anxiety and panic attacks along an allergic response to 20+ environmental factors. At the end of her session she had a sudden flash of insight -- her anxiety was also a "mistake" that her brain had made about being safe. It was a life altering moment for her. No logical explanation could have given her what she gave to herself in that blinding moment of clarity.  In another session a few weeks ago, I had asked my client to go as far back as he needed to go to the first time he'd experienced his core issue. He went to several troubling scenes but on the third attempt to identify the very first event, he ended up in a place of absolute peace. Which was, of course, perfect. I asked him to fill up with that peace, anchor it and then bring it forward as a resource to the other scenes and to his life today.  Even after 20+ years in this field I continue to be fascinated at how powerful we are when we slow down and look inside for our inner wisdom.
